Documentation

Learn how to configure and deploy PropHierarchy Assoc by AdviVest in your HubSpot portal. This documentation covers initial installation, mapping configuration, troubleshooting common OAuth issues, and data privacy disclosures.

Getting Started

To install the application, click the Install App Free button on the home page. You will be redirected to HubSpot's OAuth page. Select the HubSpot portal where you want to deploy the integration and approve the required permissions. After successful authentication, you will be redirected to the onboarding wizard in your admin portal.

How It Works

PropHierarchy Assoc by AdviVest registers custom CRM cards that display on Deals, Contacts, and Company pages.

  1. Configure your hierarchies and rules inside the AdviVest admin panel.
  2. Open a CRM record (e.g. a Deal or Contact) in HubSpot.
  3. Locate our card on the right-hand sidebar.
  4. Select cascading parameters or assign filtered associations based on company driver constraints.
  5. Data is synced back to your standard HubSpot properties automatically in real-time.

Module 1 — Dependent Dropdowns

Define tree hierarchies (e.g., Country → State → City) under Dependent Properties inside the admin portal. You can define nodes manually using the visual tree editor, or import a pre-structured CSV containing columns: level, parent_value, label, value.

Once your tree is created, configure a Property Mapping to tie each level to its corresponding HubSpot property. The cascading dropdown card will automatically render on matching HubSpot CRM records.

Module 2 — Filtered Associations

Configure relationship constraints under Filtered Associations. Select the parent object type (e.g., Company), the child object type (e.g., Contact), and the association link (e.g., Deal).

This ensures that when a sales rep views a Deal card and wants to associate a Contact, the picker is restricted to show only the contacts already linked to the parent Company. Use the Association labels API to look up custom label IDs if you are using custom HubSpot relationships.

Data & Permissions

AdviVest requests standard CRM permissions to perform background lookups. We do not store your customer records in our databases.

HubSpot ObjectOAuth ScopePurpose
Dealscrm.objects.deals.read/writeFetch properties and associate child objects.
Contactscrm.objects.contacts.read/writeRead contact details and apply association filters.
Companiescrm.objects.companies.readReference companies as drivers/parents in association chains.

Troubleshooting

1. OAuth Authentication loop errors

Confirm that cookies are enabled in your browser and you are not in private browsing/incognito mode, which can block authentication tokens during the OAuth handshake.

2. Mapped dropdowns are disabled or empty in HubSpot

Check that you have populated option nodes for the active hierarchy and successfully configured the corresponding property mapping in the admin panel.

3. Association filters return no contacts

Verify that the parent record (e.g. Company) is associated with the record you are currently viewing (e.g. Deal). If the company driver is missing, the filter has no parent context to lookup.

Uninstalling

If you uninstall the integration from your HubSpot Connected Apps page, the CRM cards will immediately disappear. We deactivate your account and retain your configuration data for 30 days to allow quick recovery if you re-install. After 30 days, your trees and configurations are permanently pruned.
